Provide contract management support for the organisation as a result of poor performance from their third party logistics partner, including detailed evaluation of under-performance as a pre-cursor for potential termination and legal claim.

Development of customer entry strategies for a value added service proposition. Seeking to understand, evaluate and exploit opportunities to extend an existing value added service proposition into a different, predominantly Grocery, customer base.

The brief was to generate short term operational 'quick wins' including an initial review of supply chain processes and practices, identification and verification of short term savings opportunities and the implementation of those opportunities: 

  • Identified significant £six figure benefits within the first week of the assignment and gained operational support for their implementation,
  • Identified a significant level of customer service 'abuses' leading to significant additional cost to the organisation and proposed a methodology for tackling the issue,
  • Provided new insights into supplier and product performance resulting in recommendations to dramatically reduce the tail of products within the business.

Strategic evaluation of the BWS Supply Chain in order to evaluate and present opportunities for cost reduction and / or working capital improvement:- 

  • £six figure Freight cost savings identified, 
  • Significant opportunities for working capital reduction identified in principle and being evaluated prior to implementation.
